Chamber executive Pat Mc.Keown says the Route 37 corridor was chosen for its proximity with Canada and the business opportunities broadband internet brings the border region. BRODERICK NOT GUILTY OF SEX CRIME, BUT CONVICTED OF ENDANGERING WELFARE OF CHILDREN--Reverend John Broderick, a priest who worked in Massena for a time a few years ago, was found not guilty yesterday in Montgomery County Court of sexually-abusing children of a family whose mother he spiritually advised. He could get up to a year in jail for the child endangerment charge. NAME RELEASED OF AKWESASNE FATAL CRASH VICTIM--74-year-old Florence David of Cook Road, Hogansburg was killed Tuesday night when her car was hit by the vehicle of a volunteer firefighter on his way to an ice rescue in the St. Lawrence River. The investigation continues; newspaper accounts have suggested the ice rescue may have been a prank. FUEL SPILL AT BRASHER FIRE--100-200 gallons of fuel spilled at 50 Congress Street in Brasher Falls early yesterday as a garage owned by Douglass Russell was destroyed by flames. A State DEC spill response team cleaned up the fuel. no obituaries today
