99 NEWS HEADLINES FOR MONDAY, 12/22/08 MAJOR STRUCTURE FIRE-MASSENA--Norfolk firefighters with mutual aid including Massena and other surrounding departments were called within the 8:00 hour this morning to what was reported to be a major residential fire on Hough Road, near Massena but in Norfolk's district. An expecting mother is believed to have suffered smoke inhalation and was transported by ambulance to massena Memorial Hospital. Cause and Origin Investigators have been called to the scene. HOLIDAY TRAVEL TO BE HAMPERED BY ICE WEDNESDAY--The National Weather Service bureau in Burlington, VT told us this morning a wintry mix of ice and snow is forecasted for Wednesday, making for difficult travel until late in the day when temperatures approach 40. PEDESTRIAN HURT IN PIERREPONT HIT-AND-RUN--Sheriff's deputies say 22-year-old Thomas Locy of Canton was walking with traffic on Butternut Ridge Road about 3:30pm Sunday when he was struck by a car described as white, possibly a Subaru or Toyota.
